Named after the famous Long Island polo ground and originally opened in 1955, the Westbury Mayfair Hotel is housed in a somewhat austere looking grey stone building, which none the less boasts prestigious boutiques like Versace, Tiffany's and Armani as its neighbours. Elegantly appointed with a pale marble floor and beautiful chandeliers, the spacious lobby offers plentiful seating. The 249 medium sized, air conditioned guestrooms are designed in a traditional style, with cream toned décor complemented by rich fabrics, padded headboards and dark wood furnishings. All are equipped with a good range of home comforts and are impeccably maintained, as are the marble en suite bathrooms.
The hotel offers a variety of dining options. The service at the Artisan restaurant is as much of an art form as the food. The striking interior is distinguished by wood panelling and a fireplace that graces the heart of the room. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant features contemporary, cosmopolitan menus, all expertly prepared by Head Chef, Daniel Hillier. Exciting flavours from around the world unite to create the very best in Modern European cuisine.
With its extensive range of champagne, classic and modern cocktails, delectable bar snacks and a pianist to set the mood, the warm, inviting ambience of The Polo Bar make it one of Mayfair’s leading venues for meeting friends and relaxing. Alternatively, the Polo Lounge’s stunning décor and soothing atmosphere make it the perfect place to enjoy a delicious breakfast, lunch or pre-theatre meal. It’s also the ideal venue for the hotel’s internationally acclaimed, traditionally English afternoon teas.
